ההתנגדות לחימוש ישראל: ביטוי לשבר הציביליזציוני בארצות הברית
ההצבעות האחרונות בקונגרס ובסנאט על עצירת אספקת נשק לישראל אמנם הסתיימו באישור העסקאות, אך חשפו תופעה עמוקה בהרבה: לראשונה בהיקף כזה, חלק משמעותי מהמערכת הפוליטית האמריקנית ביקש לבלום סיוע צבאי לבעלת ברית הנלחמת על עצם קיומה.
אין זו מחלוקת על עסקת נשק. זהו סימפטום — סימפטום לפיצול עמוק בתוך ארצות הברית, פיצול בין שתי תפיסות מוסריות, שתי מערכות ערכים, שתי ציביליזציות — המתקיימות כיום בתוך מדינה אחת.
1. שתי ציביליזציות — לא שתי מפלגות
המאבק בארצות הברית איננו עוד ויכוח פוליטי רגיל. הוא מאבק בין שתי תפיסות יסוד של המציאות — תפיסות שאינן רק שונות, אלא כאלה המחייבות בחינה במסגרת דיון ציביליזציוני.
גם אם לא לשם הכרעה ביניהן — הרי שלשם הבנה עמוקה של משמעותן. שכן אין מדובר בהבדלים תיאורטיים בלבד, אלא בבחירה מעשית בין שתי דרכי שיפוט שונות בתכלית:
מוסר אובייקטיבי ואוניברסלי — ולכן קבוע ונצחי — יסוד המהפכה האמריקנית.
מוסר שאינו אובייקטיבי — ולכן פרקטיקולרי ומשתנה — מורשת המהפכה הצרפתית.
הראשון רואה את האמת כקבועה, בלתי תלויה ברצון הרוב, ומחייבת חובות כתנאי לחירות.
השני רואה את האמת כתוצר של שיח, כוח ונרטיב — ולכן משתנה, זמנית ותלויה בהקשר.
ההצבעה על ישראל חשפה עד כמה הפיצול הזה כבר איננו תיאורטי — אלא מעצב בפועל את פעולתה של המערכת הפוליטית.
2. מהו מוסר אובייקטיבי — ולמה הוא תנאי לקיום יציב
המוסר האובייקטיבי איננו המצאה אנושית. הוא תרגום אנושי של חוקי המציאות עצמה — כשם שחוקי הפיזיקה אינם תלויים בדעה, כך גם חוקי המוסר אינם תלויים ברצון.
המסורת המקראית, שעליה נשענה גם המהפכה האמריקנית, ראתה את האדם כחלק מיקום בעל סדר:
חוקי הטבע מייצרים — כאשר פועלים לאורם — יציבות בממד הפיזי.
ערכי המוסר — כתרגום אנושי של חוקי המציאות — מייצרים יציבות בממד החברתי.
לכן מוסר אובייקטיבי הוא תנאי לקיום יציב: הוא מחבר את ההתנהגות האנושית לעקרונות היסוד המייצרים סדר במציאות עצמה, ומכיוון שערכיו נגזרים מהם — הוא גם אוניברסלי.
3. מהו מוסר שאינו אובייקטיבי — ולמה הוא מוביל לעיוות שיפוט
מוסר שאינו אובייקטיבי איננו נגזר מחוקי המציאות, אלא מן השיח האנושי. הוא תלוי זמן, תלוי כוח ותלוי נרטיב — ולכן איננו אוניברסלי.
כאשר אין אמת אובייקטיבית — הסבל הנראה לעין הופך למטבע היחיד של הצדק.
במסגרת מוסר כזה:
- מי שמציג עצמו כחלש — נתפס כצודק;
- מי שמפעיל כוח להגנה עצמית — נתפס כתוקפן;
- העובדות מאבדות את מעמדן, והנרטיב תופס את מקומן.
כך מתהפכת ההבחנה בין תוקפן למתגונן:
חמאס מבצע זוועות — אך “הקורבן הפלסטיני” מנצח את השיח;
איראן מצהירה בגלוי על כוונתה להשמיד את ישראל — אך ישראל נבחנת;
מדינה המגינה על עצמה מפני השמדה — מוצגת כמי שיש להענישה.
אין זה כשל שיפוט מקרי — אלא תוצאה הכרחית של מוסר שאינו אובייקטיבי, שאינו מסוגל להבחין בין אמת לשקר, וממילא גם בין טוב לרע ובין צדק לרשע.
4. אירופה כדוגמה — אמריקה כחריג שנשחק
אירופה היא המעבדה ההיסטורית של תרבות דמוקרטית שעיגנה את עצמה בשלילת קיומה של אמת אובייקטיבית — ובביסוס הממד החברתי על אמת יחסית. מאז המהפכה הצרפתית היא נעה בין אוטופיות לקריסות:
מהפכת החופש → טרור יעקוביני
אשליית בונפרטה → מלחמות הרס
אוטופיה קומוניסטית → טוטליטריות
השפלת ורסאי → נאציזם
כאשר אין אמת אובייקטיבית — אין גבול לדמיון; וכאשר הדמיון מתנגש במציאות — נוצרת קריסה.
אמריקה הייתה היוצא מן הכלל: היא שמרה על סינרגיה ייחודית בין אמת מדעית לאמת מוסרית. זו הייתה סוד עוצמתה.
כעת, הסינרגיה הזו נשחקת.
5. נקודת השבר: מה המשמעות של נטישת האמת האובייקטיבית
כאשר מחוקקים מאמצים מוסר שאינו אובייקטיבי, הם אינם משנים מדיניות — הם משנים זהות.
הם מתנתקים מהערכים שעליהם הושתתה הרפובליקה האמריקנית.
פסלו של משה אוחז בלוחות הברית בבית המשפט העליון, ופעמון החירות בפילדלפיה — אינם קישוטים. הם הצהרת יסוד: המדינה האמריקנית מחויבת לאמת אובייקטיבית ולמוסר אוניברסלי.
כאשר המעשה הפוליטי פועל בניגוד לערכים אלה — נוצר קרע ציביליזציוני, לא מחלוקת פוליטית.
6. סוד עוצמתה של אמריקה — ומה מאיים עליו
עוצמתה של ארצות הברית לא נבעה רק ממשאבים או מגודל אוכלוסייה, אלא מסינרגיה נדירה:
בממד הפיזי — דבקות בחוקי המדע;
בממד החברתי — דבקות במוסר הנגזר מאותם חוקי טבע שבבסיס המדע.
כאשר שני הממדים כפופים לאותה אמת — נוצרת יציבות, ודאות ויכולת הכרעה.
כאשר הסינרגיה הזו נשברת — נשברת גם עוצמתה של אמריקה ושום דרך אחרת להשבתה לגדולתה לא תצלח.
7. השורה האחרונה: סימן אזהרה לציביליזציה
כשם שהתכחשות לחוקי הטבע מביאה לקריסה בממד הפיזי — כך התכחשות לאמת אובייקטיבית מביאה לקריסה בממד החברתי.
אירופה ניצלה שלוש פעמים במאה ה־20 בזכות ארצות הברית — בזכות דבקותה באמת ובמוסר נטוע באמת. אך אם ארצות הברית עצמה תתכחש לאמת זו — מי יציל הפעם את אירופה, את העולם, ואת ארצות הברית עצמה?
כאשר מחוקקים מוכנים להפקיר את ישראל בשם מוסר שאינו אובייקטיבי — הם אינם מפקירים רק בעלת ברית; הם מפקירים את מדינתם ואת העולם כולו בידי כוחות שאינם מבחינים בין אמת לשקר.
על ישראל להתייחס למהלך זה — גם לאחר שנהדף — לא כאל אפיזודה פוליטית, אלא כאל סימן אזהרה מוסרי: ראיה לכך שהקרע הציביליזציוני כבר חודר אל המוסדות שנועדו להגן על הסדר החופשי, מפני קואליציה מסוכנת של רשע ועיוורון מוסרי.
זהו סימן אזהרה — לא לישראל בלבד, אלא לציביליזציה כולה.
ציביליזציה שמפסיקה להאמין באמת — לא מובסת מבחוץ; היא קורסת מבפנים.

The recent votes in Congress and the Senate on blocking arms supplies to Israel may have ultimately ended in the approval of the deals, but they revealed a far deeper phenomenon: for the first time on such a scale, a significant portion of the American political establishment sought to block military aid to an ally fighting for its very existence.

1. Two Civilizations — Not Two Parties
The struggle in the United States is no longer an ordinary political debate. It is a struggle between two foundational perceptions of reality — perceptions that are not merely different, but which demand examination within a civilizational framework.
Not necessarily to decide between them — but to understand their full significance. For we are not dealing with theoretical differences alone, but with a practical choice between two fundamentally different modes of judgment:
Non-Objective Morality — particular and fluid; the legacy of the French Revolution.
Objective and Universal Morality — fixed and eternal; the foundation of the American Revolution.
The former views truth as a product of discourse, power, and narrative — fluid, temporary, and context-dependent.
The latter views truth as constant, independent of the will of the majority, and requiring duties as a prerequisite for liberty.
The vote on Israel exposed the extent to which this split is no longer theoretical — it is actively shaping the operation of the political system.
2. What is Objective Morality — and Why is it a Condition for Stable Existence?
Objective morality is not a human invention. It is a human translation of the laws of reality itself — just as the laws of physics do not depend on opinion, the laws of morality do not depend on will.
The Biblical tradition, upon which the American Revolution drew, viewed man as part of an ordered universe:
Natural laws generate — when acted upon — stability in the physical dimension.
Moral values — as the human translation of the laws of reality — generate stability in the social dimension.
Objective morality is therefore a condition for stable existence: it connects human behavior to the foundational principles that produce order in reality itself. Because its values are derived from those principles, it is also universal.
3. What is Non-Objective Morality — and Why Does it Lead to Distorted Judgment?
Non-objective morality is not derived from the laws of reality, but from human discourse. It is time-dependent, power-dependent, and narrative-dependent — and therefore not universal.
When there is no objective truth, visible suffering becomes the only currency of justice.
Within such a moral framework:
Whoever presents themselves as weak is perceived as just.
Whoever exercises power in self-defense is perceived as the aggressor.
Facts lose their standing, and narrative takes their place.
This inverts the distinction between aggressor and defender:
Hamas commits atrocities — yet the "Palestinian victim" dominates the discourse.
Iran openly declares its intent to destroy Israel — yet Israel is placed under scrutiny.
A state defending itself against annihilation is portrayed as the party deserving punishment.
This is not an accidental failure of judgment — it is the necessary consequence of a non-objective morality incapable of distinguishing truth from falsehood, and therefore good from evil, justice from wickedness.
4. Europe as Example — America as the Eroding Exception
Europe is the historical laboratory of a democratic culture that anchored itself in the denial of objective truth, grounding its social dimension in relative truth. Since the French Revolution, it has oscillated between utopias and collapses:
Revolution of Liberty → Jacobin Terror
Bonapartist Illusion → Destructive Wars
Communist Utopia → Totalitarianism
Versailles Humiliation → Nazism
When there is no objective truth, there is no limit to the imagination; and when imagination collides with reality, collapse follows.
America was the exception: it maintained a unique synergy between scientific truth and moral truth. That was the secret of its strength.
That synergy is now eroding.
5. The Breaking Point: What Abandoning Objective Truth Means
When legislators adopt non-objective morality, they are not merely changing policy — they are changing identity. They are severing themselves from the values upon which the American Republic was founded.
The statue of Moses holding the Ten Commandments in the Supreme Court, and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia — these are not decorations. They are foundational declarations: the American state is committed to objective truth and universal morality.
When political action operates in opposition to these values, the result is not a political disagreement — it is a civilizational rupture.
6. The Secret of America's Strength — and What Threatens It
The power of the United States did not stem from resources or population alone, but from a rare synergy:
In the physical dimension — adherence to the laws of science.
In the social dimension — adherence to a morality derived from those same natural laws that ground science.
When both dimensions are subject to the same truth, stability, certainty, and the capacity for decisive action follow.
When this synergy breaks, America's strength breaks with it — and no path to restoring its greatness will avail.
7. A Warning Sign for Civilization
Just as the denial of natural laws leads to collapse in the physical dimension, the denial of objective truth leads to collapse in the social dimension.
Europe was saved three times in the 20th century by the United States — by its adherence to truth and a morality rooted in that truth. But if the United States itself abandons this truth — who will save Europe, the world, and the United States itself?
When legislators are willing to abandon Israel in the name of non-objective morality, they are not merely abandoning an ally — they are abandoning their country and the entire world to forces that cannot distinguish truth from lies.
Israel must treat this episode — even after it was repelled — not as a political incident, but as a moral warning: evidence that the civilizational rift has already penetrated the institutions designed to protect the free world from a dangerous coalition of evil and moral blindness.
This is a warning sign — not for Israel alone, but for civilization as a whole.
A civilization that stops believing in truth is not defeated from without — it collapses from within.
